How to Root Micromax A100 Superfone Canvas

Micromax phones or in this case "phablets" are not that popular around the world but it does have a significant presence in the Indian markets. The phones are good quality although the lack of software updates is a problem for most people. Usually for most phones without constant firmware updates there will be at least ports of software from other phones but development on the Micromax phones has been slow owing to developers preferring to stick to phones from Samsung or the Nexus devices.

After a lot of waiting the MIUI ROM for the Galaxy Note 2 is finally out. This is the official release and not a port by some developer. It is a stable build and you can install it as mentioned below. Your Galaxy Note 2 does need to be rooted and you need to have ClockWorkMod Recovery installed.

Install iOS Style ROM on Samsung Galaxy Y S5360

There are many ROMs for the Galaxy Y that claim to provide any iOS look and feel. But the Infinity ROM is probably one of the best available ROMs for the Galaxy Y that lives up to what it claims to provide. The UI does pretty much look like iOS. It is not quite as refined as iOS with some pixelated textures here and there but it is a nice break from the Gingerbread interface on stock firmware. To install the ROM on your device you should have basic requirements such as being rooted and also on the latest stock firmware.

How To Install Ubuntu on Nexus 7

There have been talks about Ubuntu coming to Android devices for a long time now. But the first major step comes with the release of the Ubuntu installer for the Nexus 7 being released. The installer is quite straight forward and you can install it on your Nexus 7 easily. The version of Ubuntu available provides Ubuntu onto your device, but it is quite bug filled as it is still in development stage.

The Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update is here for Samsung Galaxy R users. The ROM which I am talking about is still only in alpha stages but that just means it has a few bugs. XDA developer Adam77Root has been working on the ROM and now it is out. If you have the time head on down to the forum page and give him a thanks.

Install Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001

Good news for Samsung Galaxy S Plus. Earlier I had covered how to install Ice Cream Sandwich on the S Plus and now the Jelly Bean update is here. Not just 4.1.1 but 4.1.2. The sad thing though is that the ROM which runs on 4.1.2 for the S Plus is still in alpha stage which means it will have a few bugs as the developer Doomsday94 from XDA mentions. But the good thing is that development is still going on and we can expect more updates for this ROM and soon a full functional stable version.

How To Root Samsung Galaxy Chat GT-B5330

The Samsung Galaxy Chat was released recently released. Even though it has Android Ice Cream Sandwich by default, development on it has been slow. Devices like the Galaxy Chat which is a hybrid of the old QWERTY keypad containing device and a touchscreen are kind of unpopular which is the main reason why development is slow. But don't be mistaken this phone does have all the abilities of any other Android device. The beginning of customization on an Android Device is to root it so as to install ROMs and SuperUser. The Galaxy Chat GT-B5330 has a decent 850 MHz processor but the screen quality is not similar to most other medium and low end devices. The Galaxy Chat has been rooted by XDA Recognized Developer Zackconsole and below I will be explaining how you can root your device.
